I'm a bit stuck with my CTF map so I started a small side project. I began to block out the layout of the map and would like to get some feedback on it as I'm not too experienced with TDM maps.
Later on it's meant to be some kind of a sci-fi city (with skyscrapers and so on) thats covered with a lot of sand so you get at least some terrain to ski.

Thats the status for now. Any ideas or suggestions to the layout?

Edit: recorded some skiing around, hopefully the quality isnt too bad

i wonder if there's enough room to apply some sand or vertical metal surface to build up speed in a easier way without exaggerating. But i like how this map requieres more coordination than some tdm map in T:A. My experience in mapping or anything is nowhere near yours, but no1 posted yet so i'm giving a try.

Looks pretty cool. Reminds me of old Tribes DM maps actually. Maybe the sand could be a bit... hillier? And that half-pipe thing you have on the right. Things like that should be all over the place!

Looks cool. One suggestion though, overhead obstacles that can be used for carving; upside down half pipes, for instance, are great fun with the carving system.

Half-pipe thing? Do you mean those curved facade buildings? I'll try to add some more of those.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly with overhad obstacles. Do you maybe have a ref or something?

Carving works in all directions, so things that are above the player can be used just like things below the player. Islamic architecture works well for illustrating the point; lots of curved ceilings, sphere ceilings, and interesting geometry overhead.

Small update. Added some half-pipe structures to the buildings and altered the terrain a bit.
