Post The armor thread
Just to avoid further hijacking of voidspawn's thread, a place to toss pictures and ideas for armor/character design.

For my first serious attempt at a character model, I'm using the updated Snake Eyes as my inspiration:

I'm imagining something like this with tron-esque lighting on the suit for visibility. Black suits with team colored lighting, the high contrast should be distinguished in any conditions.

The last one looks like a good medium armour suit, the Evangelion one looks like a good light armour suit, minus the horn and fins. Unit-00 would probably be a better starting point there: Image 1, Image 2.

Dune meets Tron would be probably the best light armour if it was fairly easy to see from a distance.

Pacific Rim has some neat takes on armor and mechs.

my thoughts were a hybrid. something in between a robot/human. So you wont have to stick to "proportions". (forgot the name of it....)

you dont even have to have a head.... it can be a radar instead.

arms dont need to be big to be strong. (same with legs.)

Could be very cool to stylize armors like this carved skull.

Agreed, athough this wouldn't be something the modellers need to worry about, that's a texture and bump/normal map thing.

Which the modelers will most likely end up doing anyway.

Any models I create (if I ever finish one) will have UV maps so anyone can make skins if they want.
